Private Medicare Advantage plans offered by private health care insurance providers are expected to have an increase in net federal reimbursement by next year. This was announced this week by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Medicare Advantage plans are provided by private health care insurance and offered as an alternative to traditional pay-for-medical services.

The increase is actually less than the 1.6% proposed last February by the federal agency.
The proposed changes came as a response last year for agencies to save government money and bring the rates closer to traditional paid-for service providers. Medicare Advantage plans was found to be efficient and provides better quality services at a rate less costly than traditional providers.
Critics of Medicare Advantage plan found it to be more expensive than traditional Medicare.
